Alfabs wins HVTC Employer of the Year Award 2022

Alfabs Group is proud to announce that we have been awarded Overall Employer of the Year 2022 by Hunter Valley Training Company (HVTC).

Alfabs hosts 22 apprentices and trainees across the Group with the apprentices and trainees employed by HVTC. The apprenticeships include Boilermakers, Fitters, Light Vehicle Mechanics and Industrial Painters. Traineeships are typically administration or accounts based.

Alfabs and HVTC enjoy a long history with an excellent record of successful completion of training. HVTCs supportive staff and in-house training facilities are the main reason Alfabs engages with HVTC over their competitors. After a recent tour of the training facilities for Boilermakers, Group General Manager, Jason Torrance said “the facilities are great and the learning opportunities far more in-depth than a traditional RTO.”

Lisa Lamond, Group Manager HR/HSEQ says “Alfabs prides itself on training trades for our future. Often apprenticeship candidates ask what will happen after the completion of their apprenticeship and we are quick to instil from the beginning that we want our apprentices to enjoy a long employment relationship with Alfabs.”

Alfabs is anticipating a large intake for 2023 with a focus on transitioning existing team members into learning opportunities. “We have a number of good people in trade assistant or support roles who have expressed an interest in undertaking their apprenticeship” says Lisa Lamond, “2023 will see us step those people into long-term training opportunities so they can achieve their goal of completing an apprenticeship”.
